The Fundamental Edge
Examine the bull case, token economics and unanswered questions behind a crypto project—before you decide what deserves your money.
You like the project. What supports the thesis?
You have read the website, watched the interviews and heard the bull case. You still need to establish who uses the product, why anyone needs the token, what could dilute its holders, and which claims stand up to scrutiny.
The Fundamental Edge gives your AI agent an 18-point research process for examining those questions. It asks for evidence behind the story and keeps unanswered questions in the report.
What your first analysis should tell you
What supports the bull case. Examine product demand, delivered technology and the evidence behind partnerships and traction.
How value reaches the token. Separate a useful product from token demand, holder benefits and the effect of future supply changes.
What could break the thesis. Review security, privileged controls, liquidity and dilution risks alongside the positive case.
What you still need to verify. See missing or conflicting evidence and the checks that could change the research verdict.
How the project compares. Request a comparison with suitable peers using matching metrics and dates, with gaps shown when comparable evidence is unavailable.
The output brings the bull case, bear case, sources and research gaps into one report you can question. It does not establish that a coin will perform well.
Start with one project you are researching
Pick a coin from your watchlist. Open the skill below, follow the setup once, then use the starter request to run your first report.
Get the skill and analyze your first project
You need an AI agent that can read the complete skill folder and browse underlying sources. The skill is free; your AI provider’s access and usage terms apply.
Set up the skill once
Open the AI Agent Skills repository and download it using Code → Download ZIP, or clone it if you already use Git.
Inside the download, find skills/crypto-fundamental-analysis. Keep the entire folder, including SKILL.md and the references folder. SKILL.md alone is incomplete.
Install that folder through your AI agent’s supported skill-installation workflow. If the agent has no skill loader but can read files, give it the whole folder and explicitly ask it to read SKILL.md and every linked reference before starting.
Use an AI agent with web browsing that can open underlying sources. Enable it before requesting a current assessment. If browsing is unavailable, the skill should stop the current assessment and offer a blank framework or a review of dated documents you supply.
Installation and skill discovery vary by client. The repository instructions explain the file requirements; automatic discovery across every AI client has not been verified. Paid APIs, a private research library and wallet access are not required.
Run your first analysis
Choose one project and supply its official website. If the name or ticker could refer to more than one token, add the chain and full contract address. For a native coin, say so.
After loading the skill, copy this request and replace the square-bracket fields:
Use the Crypto Fundamental Analysis skill to analyze [PROJECT NAME AND TICKER]. Official website: [URL]. Chain and full contract address, or native coin: [DETAILS].
Give me the full 18-point report in USD with the default 90-day unlock and catalyst horizon. Confirm the asset identity first, open the underlying sources, and cite material claims beside the evidence. Separate project claims, verified facts, estimates and unknowns. Show quality, risk and evidence confidence separately, and finish with the biggest evidence gaps and observable conditions that would change the research verdict.
For a focused follow-up, try: “Recheck token utility, tokenholder value capture and unlocks for [PROJECT + OFFICIAL LINK]. Show what changed since [REPORT DATE] and which sources support the change.”
The skill explains findings in Robin the Quant’s voice. Its output is AI-generated research, not a live message or personal approval from Robin.
Read the report without outsourcing your judgment
Start with the biggest unknown. Check whether the missing evidence could change the thesis before focusing on the headline score.
Quality score: Five dimensions receive 0–2 points each: product and demand, team and delivery, security and governance, token economics, and valuation and competitive position. If any dimension is unknown, the overall score should be “not rated — incomplete evidence.” The rubric is editorial judgment, not a validated return model or probability.
Evidence confidence: High, Medium or Low describes the evidence supporting the assessment. It is separate from project quality.
Risk: Low, Medium, High or Unknown reflects identified risks and gaps. “Low” is relative to comparable crypto assets; it does not mean safe.
Research verdict: Consider means the evidence supports further consideration; Wait identifies a material gap or unresolved condition; Avoid identifies a substantiated critical flaw or contradicted thesis. Hold / reassess applies only when you have said you already own the asset. A score alone must not determine the verdict.
Open the sources behind the strongest positive claim and the most serious concern. Check their dates, definitions and whether the evidence concerns the product, the token or both.
The 18 checks in your report
Problem and solution: Who needs it, what alternatives exist, and why blockchain is relevant.
Market opportunity: Reachable demand and the assumptions behind the opportunity.
Founder and team: Track record, delivered work and accountability.
Investors and advisors: Confirmed involvement and disclosed terms.
Product and traction: What works today and what usage data can establish.
Technology: Architecture, dependencies and live versus promised capabilities.
Security and audits: Audit scope, deployed coverage, exploits and privileged controls.
Tokenomics: Supply, allocations, emissions, burns and concentration.
Token utility: Why the token is needed and how value reaches its holders.
Vesting and unlocks: The next event, recipients and releases within the research horizon.
Business model: Who pays, fees, revenue, tokenholder flows, incentives and disclosed costs.
Competition: Comparable products, adoption, distribution and switching costs.
Partnerships and customers: Confirmed use versus announcements and pilots.
Community: Useful participation, governance and user feedback.
Development: Substantive releases, contributors and delivery against promises.
Exchanges and liquidity: Verified markets, available depth and exit constraints.
Valuation: Market cap, fully diluted valuation, supply basis and comparable peers.
Risks: Failure mechanisms, evidence strength and conditions that break the thesis.
A full report requests findings, pros, cons and sources for every section, then adds bull and bear cases, catalysts, a competitor comparison and monitoring checks. Missing coverage must remain visible.
Check these before using the findings
Confirm the official asset, chain and contract. A familiar ticker is insufficient.
Check the observation dates. A source opened today can still contain old data.
Check unlock coverage and the circulating-supply denominator. Unknown releases must not appear as zero; unlocked tokens must not be treated as certain sales.
Keep fees, protocol revenue, tokenholder revenue and profit distinct. Compare peers using matching periods and definitions.
Ask what would invalidate the thesis and what observable change would trigger a new review.
This is a research workflow. It does not establish personal suitability, choose your allocation, execute trades or connect a wallet. Never provide seed phrases or account credentials. AI can miss or misread evidence; verify decision-changing claims yourself.
